Would You Like Photography With That Photography?

http://www.AmandaMarie-Photography.com

So lately I have been eating, breathing and sleeping photography. Okay, maybe not eating, that would be gross. But really, I have been doing nothing but researching, reading, dreaming, and falling in love with so many photographers out there.

As I continue with this journey, I am starting to slowly find my true style, and it helps to find photographers that inspire me and make my heart beat faster. I knew my style has always been something timeless/vintage-ish, since that is what I love most, but I have been truly torn between going the raw/bright/modern type photography way. The winner turns out to be the soft and artistic/vintage-ish…that is just who I am. I would share my inspirational photographers, but I wouldn’t want to start competition now would I? Haha.

Anyway, no new images yet. I have so many photo shoots up my sleeve, but we are all just waiting for some nice weather. (PLLEEEAASE Oregon?) Plus I get to meet some potential wedding clients tomorrow. I can’t wait.

Soon to come: A few re-caps that I haven’t posted on my blog yet:)

Well I am back in Oregon and ready to party it up with some new photo shoots! I have a few on the radar, but the weather here is so unpredictable.  Basically my clients and I have to play it by ear, which I don’t mind since I am such and “impromptu” person anyway.

I made my Facebook page today: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Amanda-Marie-Photography/179779905388678?v and already have 30 fans! Kinda funny – I spent HOURS on my website and this blog, and it took me roughly a half hour to create the Facebook page including inviting people and uploading photos. Facebook should take over the world. Oh wait, they already have.

Now that I have my normal life back (AKA a bed, my own food, and a shower with all my own goodies in it) I wanted to post a few pics from my time home. Sorry Mom, I didn’t take any photos from your house minus the outdoor pics since we didn’t get out of our pajamas for two days) Haha.

Visiting the Swans on Christmas day.

Christmas day at my lovely Aunt Jan and Uncle John’s. Thanks for having us for appetizers, champagne and games!

OHHH, look who won Apples to Apples! Meeee! Apparently I am sharp, graceful, and twisted.

That’s my uncle telling a “funny” joke in the background. By “funny” I mean I probably didn’t get it. Ha!

Time for the bubbly and the crab!

My crazy Pops.

My beautiful Grandparents.

Grandpa has this thing with hands:)

What did I learn about my journey while back at home?!?! To not be shy with my camera around people I know well. For some reason, I am better with my camera around strangers?? Strange….

It’s Raining Babies!

http://www.AmandaMarie-Photography.com

I am surrounded by loved ones who are pregnant and/or recently had a baby. Unfortunately a lot of them live either far away, or I wasn’t able to meet with them for a photo shoot while I was home in MN:(

Yesterday I had the privilege to do maternity photos for one of my dearest friends from high school. Jodie and her husband Seth are an amazingly adorable and humble couple; they will have one lucky child. (which I think will be a boy:)  It was tough without great lighting, but my camera caught this awesome vignetting effect while taking photos at their house.

NO WAY SHE JUST TEXTED ME AND HAD THE BABY TODAY!!! It looks like we did those photos in the nick of time! My fantasy was actually for her to go into labor immediately after the photo shoot. I would’ve come to their rescue and driven them to the hospital like a bat out of hell while Seth coached her breathing patterns in the back seat. I would wait while she was in labor (in labor for only one hour of course) and then be there to take photos right after she was born. Hmmmm….okay, I just snapped out of my day dream. If only we would have done the photo shoot today that maybe would have happened.  Hahaha. Plus I was wrong. It was a girl!

Okay, back to the photos. Here are a few teasers from the photo shoot. It was tough to choose my favorites so there are a lot!

XOXOXOXO and congratulations Jodie, Seth and Angeline Lila! I can’t wait to meet her!

Home for the Hollerdays

I’m back in MN for the holidays and boy did they get some snow! I took a mini walk at my moms, she lives in St Francis, MN only a block from the Rum River. A good photo op after trekking through a few yards of about 3 feet of snow.

It’s a very chill and relaxed holiday this year and being home reminds me of how much I miss my family. Tomorrow I go to Dad’s to spend some time with him and hopefully see some others I care about so much!

Here are a few from my glorious walk this morning. (after shoveling the driveway!)

I Took a Break From “Life” Yesterday.

I should have edited all day yesterday, but it was so rainy and depressing outside that James and I rented season 3 of Dexter. We watched the entire season in one day. I don’t know if that’s sad or impressive! Haha. Between that, Ben and Jerry’s Coffee Heath ice cream, and snuggling with my cat, Sasquatch (aka Rilla, or Rill Dog) it was a pretty good day.

So…today I edited all day. I really loved the last two photo shoots I did. I feel myself growing and learning something new with each photo shoot. With the Moon family, the sun was actually out for once, and  boy was it strong! I had a few problems with the sun burning out faces, but I was able to edit enough of the bad ones. Like I said… I learn something every shoot!

Here area  few of my favorites from the fam shoot and from my shoot with beeee-autiful Jessica. Hope they like them!

Holy Moley!

Well hi, this is my first blog post, and this excites me greatly. What better way for people to get to know me than to listen to me ramble on and on about what I love most: Photography!

I’ve had a load of wonderful clients since I have been in Oregon, and have also had the lovely privilege of working with Sally, owner of Pink Caterpillar Photography. (check her out she is amazing!) I feel so grateful to have stumbled upon her, if it wasn’t for her, very much of my growth wouldn’t have been possible thus far.

Back to the wonderful clients….Who knew that I would actually get to use my college degree while starting my photography business! Working with children has been a blast, and getting to know the parents has been so amazing as well. I am so fortunate to have heard from so many beautiful faces, and again, if it wasn’t for them I would have no one to put on my website. I’m a grateful girl:)

This past weekend I booked my first wedding! Kira is so awesome, and he wedding day is going to be the most unique and amazing wedding anyone has ever witnessed. She is totally my style, and I am so excited to be as artistic as possible on her wedding day as well as editing after. Vintage wedding album here we come!

Tomorrow I will post some sneaks of my photo shoot with Family Lisa and Co. Also my shoot with the beautiful Jessica. Can’t wait!
